How to get to the Pink Fancy Hotel

Guests from the four points of the compass come to stay at our small, historic inn. There are several easy ways to reach us:

Airport Arrivals
Henry Rohlsen Airport aerial viewWe recommend you take a taxi from the airport to the Pink Fancy Hotel—drivers know our location and can get you here quickly and safely. Depending on arrival schedules, many of our guests find that they do not need cars immediately. It's a simple matter to arrange a car rental later when you are settled, oriented, and ready to drive, on the left side of the road, to explore the island.

When you arrive at St. Croix's modern airport, you will find a taxi dispatcher at a booth just outside the baggage claim area. A fare of $15-$20 from the airport to the Pink Fancy hotel is for one to two persons; the total price will increase for three or more. Round-trip fares are double the one way fare. The trip from the airport takes approximately 20 minutes. The Taxi Association provides a helpful chart of fares to other points on the island.

Map showing the location of the Pink Fancy HotelDirections
If you decide to pick up a car upon arrival at the airport, your rental agent can offer driving directions into Christiansted. Remember: we drive on the left in the U.S. Virgin Islands! Here are directions from the St. Croix airport to the Pink Fancy Hotel (about 9 miles) to print out and keep:

Exit the airport and turn left, staying in the left lane of the two-lane road for about two miles. Turn right at the stoplight onto the four-lane Route 66 (Melvin Evans Highway.) Be sure to stay on the LEFT side of the median when you turn onto the divided highway.

Drive on Rte. 66 through two traffic lights. On the right you will notice the large HOVENSA oil refinery complex. As you approach the third traffic light at a large intersection, stay in the center lane and continue straight ahead through the light. Sunny Isle Shopping Center will be on your left.

Less than a mile ahead, turn right on Route 70-this road, not well marked, will have several turns, and your lane has the right of way.

First, bear left at an intersection. Further along, bear right at a medical center building and then bear to the left at the end of that block. You will approach a fork-take the right road.

As you go down a gradual hill, reach a traffic light (Intersection of 70 and 75.) Turn right onto Route 75 and enter Christiansted on King Street, passing a large church on the right and many businesses on both sides of the road.

At the bottom of the hill, your road (King Street) will become one way as it crosses Market Street at Sunday Market Square. Continue one block and take the next left (when you see the peach-colored V.I. Community Bank building ahead,) onto unmarked Prince Street. Go one block to the stop sign. Ahead in the next block, with Pink Fancy's flags on your left, park on the Street and ring the bell below our sign.

Seaplane Arrivals
Seaplane Jaunty seaplanes offer daylight service from our neighboring ports of call-Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas and old San Juan on Puerto Rico-and provide a quintessential tropical travel experience, as romantic as the history of the Pink Fancy hotel itself.

The Seaborne Airlines seaplane terminal is just around the corner from the Pink Fancy hotel, less than a three-minute walk, so a rental car is not necessary. Simply take a right at the seaplane exit and walk a half block on "Watergut" to Prince Street. Turn left onto Prince and walk to our front door-you'll see our flags mid-block at 27 Prince Street. That's it!

Major airlines:
Nonstop jet service is available daily from Miami, Florida via American Airlines, and on several days each week via Delta Airlines from Atlanta, Georgia or US Airways from Charlotte, North Carolina. These, with multiple daily flights via American Eagle from San Juan make it possible to connect to our island from any North American airport. Small regional carriers like Seaborne Airlines and Cape Air also offer regularly scheduled flights to St. Croix.
